Advise · Counsel before execution

Advise

What must change before execution begins.

Measurement tells you where you stand. Advice tells you what to do about it. Pitot’s advisory practice brings senior counsel to the whole of marketing — strategy, creative, organisation and capability — with the same discipline that runs our instruments: evidence first, then advice, then execution.

The vantage point

Outside the corporate shadow.

Inside an organisation, every plan casts a shadow. Strategy is graded by the people who wrote it. Suppliers mark their own work. The numbers arrive pre-framed to reassure. Pitot stands outside that shadow — no structure to protect, no budget to defend, no history to justify. An unbiased set of eyes, reading your market the way our instruments read the machines: against evidence, not habit.

The most expensive problems are the ones nobody inside is positioned to see.

The practice · Four disciplines

Four disciplines, one habit: evidence before opinion.

01 · Strategic counsel

Is the plan still true?

The plan, examined.

A plan is a hypothesis. Most organisations grade their own.

What we do
We establish what you actually need before recommending anything: a structured evaluation of your marketing plans, your market, and the gap between them.
  • Marketing-plan evaluation — assumptions, spend, sequencing
  • Market and category analysis
  • Opportunity-gap identification, ranked by impact
  • Needs diagnosis before any recommendation
Why it matters
Inside an organisation, a plan is defended by the people who wrote it. An outside reading, held to evidence, finds the challenges and the openings the shadow hides. The cheapest moment to change a plan is before it executes.
How it runs
Senior-led reviews of strategy and spend. Market and category analysis. Opportunity mapping with recommendations ranked by impact — and where the question touches AI-mediated perception, grounded in ARES-C readings.
02 · Creative counsel & activation

Does the work land?

Ideas judged in daylight.

Creative work deserves a reviewer with no stake in its approval.

What we do
Counsel on the creative work itself — and on the machinery around it.
  • Creative review and direction at senior level
  • Product launches, planned and coordinated end to end
  • Brand activities and campaign development
  • Agency and supplier selection, briefing and management
Why it matters
Launches and activations are where strategy becomes visible — and where budgets quietly leak. An independent eye keeps the work honest and the suppliers accountable. Someone at the table should have nothing to sell but the outcome.
How it runs
We review, direct and coordinate rather than produce — the counsel that sits between your ambition and your suppliers’ invoices, from brief to launch day.
03 · Teams & methodology

Can the team carry it?

Structure that holds.

A team is a system before it is a group of people.

What we do
We launch and coordinate new marketing teams, and restructure existing ones.
  • Team design, roles and launch coordination
  • Operating rhythm and ways of working
  • Methodology — how decisions get made, and by whom
  • Interim senior coordination while the structure beds in
Why it matters
Strategy fails quietly at the level of structure. The right method makes good decisions repeatable instead of personal. A structure that holds outlasts the people who built it.
How it runs
We design the structure with you, launch it, and stay close while it beds in — then step back. The measure of success is that the team no longer needs us.
04 · Training

Does the knowledge stay?

Capability, transferred.

The engagement ends. The capability shouldn’t.

What we do
Live, remote, interactive training for marketing teams and leadership.
  • The AI-mediated market — how machines read, rank and recommend
  • The disciplines of premium brand management
  • Built for participation, not broadcast
  • Shaped to the team, the sector and the season
Why it matters
Advice that only lives in a deck evaporates. Training moves the judgement in-house — so the next decision needs less of us.
How it runs
Live remote sessions with senior practitioners. Programmes shaped to the team and its calendar. Materials the team keeps.
The method

Evidence, then advice.

Counsel at Pitot follows the sequence the firm is built on. Where a question touches how machines read you, it draws on the same instrument that runs Measure. Where it reaches beyond AI — a launch, a team, a plan — the discipline is unchanged: markets analysed, assumptions tested, recommendations tied to something observable.

Measure Advise Build
We measure. We interpret. We advise. We build.
Engagement

Senior-led, by design.

Every engagement is carried by senior professionals — decades across marketing, digitalisation and brand management, in categories where precision is baseline.

  • Project. A defined question, a defined deliverable, a defined end.
  • Retained. Standing counsel — the outside view on call, quarter after quarter.
  • Bespoke. Shaped to the situation — a launch, a team, a market entry.
Questions

Asked before engaging.

Q.01 What does Pitot Group’s advisory practice do?
Pitot’s advisory practice provides senior marketing counsel to premium brands: strategic advice and marketing-plan evaluation, creative counsel, product launches and brand activities, supplier and agency management, team building and methodology, and live remote training. Counsel is grounded in evidence — including measurement of how AI systems read your brand.
Q.02 How is Pitot different from a traditional marketing consultancy?
Pitot is an independent outside view with a proprietary measurement instrument behind it. Recommendations are tied to observable evidence — including how AI systems rank and describe your brand — rather than internal consensus. Engagements are senior-led: the people who advise are the people who have already done the work in the past.
Q.03 Do we need a measurement engagement before advisory work?
No. Measurement and advisory are separate practices. Many advisory engagements begin from an ARES-C reading because it gives counsel an evidence base, but strategic advice, training, launches and team building can be engaged directly.
Q.04 Does Pitot deliver training remotely?
Yes. Training is live, remote and interactive by design — built for participation rather than broadcast. Programmes are shaped to the team and the sector, covering the AI-mediated market and the disciplines of premium brand management.
Q.05 Can Pitot manage our agencies and suppliers?
Yes. Pitot selects, briefs and manages agencies and suppliers on the client’s behalf — including for product launches and brand activities — as an independent party whose only interest is the client’s outcome.
Q.06 Which organisations does Pitot advise?
Pitot advises premium and luxury categories where precision is baseline — automotive, fashion, watches, hospitality, finance and adjacent sectors — working with leadership teams from London, remotely and on site.
